"My life has been extraordinarily varied
and colorful, sometimes feeling as if from a Guy de Maupassant
novel. My philosophy is Emersonian -- simple, direct, straightforward.
I am fortunate in my second chapter to spend my hours pursuing
my art. The simple art of making things with a cutting table,
sewing machine and washing machine. One piece leads to the
next. I have so many things I have done and yet so many
more awaiting to come. There are never enough hours in the
day. My influences are chiefly a few Japanese renegades,
Rei
Kawakubo and Jun
Takahashi of Undercover. I am a minimalist in my life
and my work."
